The third movement is in a fast 3/8 time signature with a feeling of one beat per measure.  The tempo marking is M.M. =160 with the eighth note receiving one beat.  With one beat to a bar the tempo of the dotted quarter note  would be approximately one beat per second or M.M.=60.

The oboist needs a light reeds with an easy response with so much tonguing in this movement.  Start your practicing with a slow three beats per measure to be sure you have all the correct fingerings, articulations, dynamics, and rhythms.  Starting at measure 40 there is a long melodic pattern that is very exciting but allows for no mistakes ending in measure 52.  This pattern ends the first half of the movement.

At the repeat sign the second half of the movement begins.  It is important to note both the articulation patterns and the dynamic patterns as they are changing rapidly that adds to the excitement of the movement.

Starting in measure 70 there is an awkward fingering pattern that ends in measure 82.  Practice this slowly to be sure you have the correct fingering patterns.

Starting at measure 77 and continuing to the end there is a mix of melodic chord patterns and stepwise melodies that are exchanged with varying articulations.  Perform this section slowing to be sure that all the changes are being play accurately.  Many performers prefer not to take the repeat at the end of the movement.
